Grandma Gogo is a book about values. It is about a grandma called Gogo who connects with her grandchildren by writing them a series of letters, to reinforce the positives of life. Gogo writes to them about awesome, colourful values like; being kind, feeling good, being safe, being truthful, feeling calm and sleepy, being curious, saying “I love you”, good manners, being grateful and living your best life.
‘Grandma Gogo’ is about a grandmother, Gogo, connecting with her grandchildren and writing them a series of letters to reinforce the positives of life. The idea is for Gogo’s letters to help guide and encourage them to become happy, zappy, kind and resilient little humans.
The author, Margot Bain (whose nickname is “Gogo”), has worked in childcare as an assistant teacher. She has run an employment agency for mothercraft nurses, providing care to babies and families. She has done a writing course with the University of Tasmania.
Above all, she loves being an active grandmother to seven amazing grandkids (and one on the way) and mother to four wonderful daughters. One daughter is a primary school teacher, one is an occupational therapist, one is a tech-whiz and TV producer, and one is an artist and jeweller.
Margot loves to paint ceramics, she volunteers for the Australian Diabetes Council and occasionally sings in a community choir. She loved working on the children’s program at the Art Gallery of NSW when volunteering in recent years. She loves to write poetry and letters too!
